The Awakening at Monument Hills
The Monument in the center of the village has been there for centuries. It’s from is that of a megalithic standing stone, thought to be the last remaining stone of a henge.
As far back as anyone can remember there have been a local festival, called the monument dedication. It occurs each year around mid-summer. there is a small parade which ends with the town naming the monument after a person of note from the local area.
Currently it is called the Barbara Aiken, who received the honour for her actions in pulling a young boy out of the way of on-coming traffic, resulting in her own hospital stay.
